Most pallet manufacturers spend a surprising share of their day converting timber rather than building pallets — ripping, docking, notching, handling offcuts and sweeping up. All of that is cost that does not appear on the timber invoice.

Cut Once, at the Mill

The cutting happens where the saw, the offcuts and the waste handling already are. You receive finished components, bundled by type, in the quantities your build ratio needs — so many deck boards, so many blocks, so many stringers.

Material is the same imported stock behind our own pallets: New Zealand radiata pine and Southern Yellow Pine from Uruguay and other international markets, sawn and graded at Gandhidham.

For a customer running an assembly line, this converts a variable in-house cutting cost into a fixed per-component price.

Strengths

Your line should be assembling, not sawing.

Ready-cut material costs more per piece than random timber and almost always costs less per finished pallet, once labour, machine time and waste are counted honestly.

Limitations

What to Keep in Mind

Every timber has a working range. These are the honest limits of ready-cut pallet material — knowing them up front is what keeps a consignment from going wrong.

We need an exact cutting list

Ready-cut only works if the dimensions are agreed precisely — component by component, with tolerances. A vague enquiry produces a vague quotation.

Less flexibility once cut

Components cut to one drawing cannot be re-purposed for a different pallet size without loss. If your sizes change often, factor that in.

Storage space by component

Bundles arrive sorted by component type, which needs a little more organised space than a random timber pile.

Moisture still has to be managed

Cut components move as they dry, exactly as any other timber does. Green components should be used reasonably promptly or stored properly.

Minimum quantities apply

Cutting a line to one drawing only makes sense above a certain volume. Small trial quantities are possible but priced differently.

Not durable untreated

Cut components carry no natural decay or termite resistance. Export or long-storage work needs heat treatment or preservative treatment.

Handling & Storage

Store It by Component, Use It in Order

Cut components are finished goods. Treat them like finished goods and the line runs smoothly.

  • Keep bundles sorted by component — mixing blocks and boards costs more time than it saves space.
  • Store under cover, off the ground, on level bearers.
  • Use stock first-in-first-out; do not let green components sit for months.
  • Sticker green components if they will be held for any length of time.
  • Check a sample from each bundle against the drawing before the line starts.
  • Keep ISPM-15 heat treated components clearly separated from untreated stock.
  • Agree a tolerance on the cutting list up front so acceptance is never a dispute.
